Tell Us About Yourself Upon arriving at our office, we will ask you to complete our communication and information forms. (You can save time by completing the forms here.) We will also make a copy of your insurance card and driver's license and begin the verification of benefits process.
Consultation After reviewing your information, the doctor will meet with you to discuss your health concerns. The objective of this consultation is to gather information in order to determine the best course of action. If the doctor feels chiropractic will be beneficial to you, she will then proceed to a number of specialized tests.
Examination Your examination will begin with an Insight Scan. This is a computerized test that shows muscle imbalances along your spine. Following the scan you will be given a spinal examination that will include both neurological and orthopedic examiniations.
X-Ray Studies The need for x-rays is based upon the result of the doctor’s initial evaluation. X-rays are sometimes required to help determine the exact cause and severity of your condition. Should x-rays be needed, our office has an on-site, state-of-the-art digital x-ray facility that allows the doctor to review your x-rays immediately.
Assessment An initial assessment and discussion of the advisable immediate action steps will follow your consultation and examination. At this time, if the doctor determines you will not benefit from chiropractic care, an alternative course of action will be recommended.
Home Instructions You will be given information to take home and read at your convenience as well as instructions on certain activities or procedures to be conducted at home. This may include ice or heat application instructions, avoidance of certain activities or positions as well as home exercise and/or stretches.
You will also be asked to return for a Report of Findings appointment. Based upon an extensive evaluation of your consultation, examination, and x-rays, the the doctor will explain to you the cause and course of care that will best help your condition.
Your first visit will usually take 45 to 60 minutes.
